Yes, every year a book industry panel will select three books published with New Generation Publishing, based on quality, sales and marketing success, to receive a traditional publishing contract.

How do I submit my work for publishing?
Most authors email their manuscript as an attachment, alternatively you can send it to us in the post.

Will I receive a Publishing Agreement?
Yes, when the publication package is agreed, authors will receive an agreement to be signed and returned, followed by their files as soon as they are ready. Note: if this includes the author supplying their own cover, please ensure it meets the provided guidelines on quality and dimensions, in addition to the text.

Will I receive proofs of my book?
Yes, digital proofs will be sent of all final text and cover files, including if publishing in both hardback and paperback, for you, the author, to sign-off. There will also be an opportunity for you to make amendments if required, details of cost to be supplied on request.

What will happen if my book isn’t accepted?
New Generation Publishing reserves the right not to publish books that do not meet the book submission guidelines provided, or which we consider are not appropriate for publishing, for example because we believe they may infringe copyright. If this is the case, the author will be informed at the outset.

If manuscripts are rejected as they do not meet the submission guidelines, reasons will be supplied so they can be adjusted and resent as appropriate. If, for whatever reason, you are unable to supply in the according to guidelines and the issue isn’t deemed solvable, a refund will be available as per below.

Do I retain copyright for my work?
Yes, the author retains copyright at all times and should you wish to cancel publication for your book to be published elsewhere, you can do so by simply informing New Generation Publishing that you wish to cancel your agreement. New Generation Publishing will delete/release the files supplied by the author at their request, and hold no further publication rights over the book.

What royalties will I receive?
From sales of your books through the distribution channels and direct via New Generation Marketplace, the author will receive 55% of royalties after retailer discounts and print costs have been deducted. As an example, for a book priced at £7.99:

£7.99 - retailer discount (est. 30%) - £3.00 print cost = £2.59
55% of £2.59 = £1.42 to the author for that sale

These royalties ensure that you, the author, receive the majority of royalty profit from sales of your book.

Who sets the price of my book?
New Generation Publishing sets the price of the book, using the team’s industry expertise and they will ensure that it is priced competitively to increase its chances in the book market. An increase in price can increase the level of royalties, but also hamper the competitiveness in the market and vice-versa, but the team would be happy to discuss that with you.

When and how will I receive details and payment of royalties?
Royalty statements are sent by email every April and October each year. They will cover exclusively sales from Jul-Dec and Jan-Jun respectively. Note: royalties will not be received on author copies (see below) and if the total due to the author is less than £25.00, this amount will be carried over to the next royalty statement. Due payments will be made electronically by BACS, unless otherwise agreed.
