Theakston’s Old Peculier Crime Writing Festival

This event is themed around the crime genre and is definitely a must-visit if you’re a writer of crime fiction. Taking place between 16th-19th July, is now in it’s thirteenth year gaining acclaim internationally and is considered to be one of the top literary festivals in the UK. Over the years the Festival has welcomed a international names such as Michael Connelly, Patricia Cornwell, Jeffrey Deaver, Karin Slaughter and J.K Rowling. http://harrogateinternationalfestivals.com/crime/

Buxton Festival

An internationally and nationally recognised arts festival, encompassing music, opera and literature the event features established artists from around the world, as well as new up-and-coming literary figures. With over 35,000 ticket sales, this is a popular event to participate in, taking place between 10th-26th July, this is really worth considering, with lots workshops and talks designed for budding authors, more information can be found here.

Way With Words

The Ways With Words literature festival started in 1991 with an aim to promote writers and literature. The event is taking place between 3rd – 13th July in Dartington, although there are many more events taking place throughout various venues throughout 2015. Ledbury Poetry Festival

This poetry festival is taking place between 3rd-12th July, considered to be one of the biggest and best poetry events in the UK.
