I looked upon the sky one day, Its gentle blue not meant to stay. The sun had warmed it in its glow, A truth the world refused to show. The sky was blue the other day. But sudden clouds came rolling near, With thunder’s voice and weight of fear. The heavens darkened, harsh and gray, As love was judged and cast away. The sky was blue the other day. Still in my heart that light remained, A quiet strength through loss and pain. Though lightning struck with cruel dismay, It could not steal the truth away. The sky was blue the other day. Then rain dispersed, the sun returned, And through the storm a rainbow burned. Its seven colors proudly say: We’re different, yet we’re one, we stay. The sky was blue the other day.
