Oforiwaa, a 15-year-old girl, lives with her parents and seven siblings in a mud house, fast falling to pieces with decay at Sakora Wonoo. To support her indigent family, Oforiwaa, abandons her Middle School education and leaves her village to take up menial jobs in the house of Mr Danso, a prominent lawyer who lives at Asokwa Bungalow, a posh residential area in the City of Kumasi.
On her 21st birthday, Oforiwaa’s fortune begins to change in The Lawyer’s House when love unexpectedly smiles and beckons to her. Tabi, son of Mr Danso – also a lawyer – starts a passionate and romantic attachment to Oforiwaa.
Adiyia, Tabi’s sister, vigorously opposes the relationship. She wants Oforiwaa to remain chained to her domestic chores. She thinks that allowing Tabi to marry Oforiwaa will do incalculable damage to the image and reputation of her family.
